About BRAC
Q1: What is BRAC Global Social Foundation?
A: BRAC Global Social Foundation (BRAC®) is a Section 8 non-profit organization established in 2015 in Mumbai, India. We work across education, healthcare, environment, and human rights, empowering underprivileged communities and victims of social injustice.
Q2: What does BRAC stand for?
A: BRAC is the acronym for Bureau of Randomly Active Committee®. Both BRAC® and Bureau of Randomly Active Committee® are registered trademarks (2015–2035) under the Indian Trade Marks Act, 1999.
Q3: Where does BRAC operate?
A: Our work spans across India, with initiatives that support local communities while collaborating with national and international partners.
Donations & Tax Benefits
Q4: How can I donate to BRAC?
A: You can donate online via our Donate Online page or offline through bank transfer, cheque, or demand draft via our Donate Offline page.
Q5: Are my donations tax-deductible?
A: Yes. All donations to BRAC are eligible for tax deductions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. You will receive an official receipt for your contribution.
Q6: Can I donate internationally?
A: At present, we accept donations from within India. For international donors, please contact us via the Contact Us page for collaboration opportunities.
Volunteering & Membership
Q7: How can I volunteer with BRAC?

Q8: Do I need specific skills to volunteer?
A: No. We welcome everyone passionate about social change. However, if you have specific skills (teaching, legal aid, healthcare, etc.), please mention them — we match volunteers to roles based on skills and interest.

Grievances & Reporting
Q10: How do I report an incident (corruption, drugs, harassment, etc.)?
A: BRAC offers multiple reporting units — from Anti-Corruption to Child Welfare to Nature Guard Wing. Select the relevant Page from our Report BRAC section, fill in the details, and our team will handle it confidentially.
Q11: Will my identity remain confidential if I report something?
A: Yes. We respect your privacy and handle all reports with confidentiality and care.
